Featured Keynote Speaker
Sheikh Jehad, born in Kuwait, to two Sunni Muslim Lebanese parents, migrated to Australia with his parents in 1978. After completing his BA in Interpreting and Translation, he decided to pursue his religious education at the Al-Azhar University. After graduating from the faculty of Da’wah and Usool, he returned to Australia and began his tabligh work.
He was always interested in the school of thought of Ahlul-Bayt (a.s) mainly through the influence of his late father who was a great advocate of unity between Sunnis and Shias. After reading much literature about the Shia school of thought, he decided to convert. He spent more than 6 years in Qum, Iran to modify his religious studies according to the school of Ahlul-Bayt (a.s)
Until recently he was the Head religious teacher for senior students at the Al-Zahra College and currently he works as a Freelance Religious Instructor, Marriage councillor and youth mentor in Australia. He has also held the position of an official government interpreter/translator in the Australian court system.
